Vidalista 20 mg vs 40 mg: Which Strength Is Right?

Vidalista is a brand of tadalafil made by Centurion Laboratories in India. It contains the same active ingredient as Cialis and is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It comes in several strengths, and two of the most searched are Vidalista 20 mg and Vidalista 40 mg. This guide explains how they differ and why the higher number is not automatically the better choice.

Does 40 mg last longer than 20 mg?

Not in any meaningful way. Tadalafil’s long effect comes from how slowly the body clears it (its half-life is about 17.5 hours), not from the size of the dose. Both strengths can support erections for up to 36 hours after a dose. Doubling the dose mainly raises the amount of medicine in the blood, and with it the chance of side effects.

Why 20 mg is the usual maximum

For as-needed use, the usual starting dose of tadalafil is 10 mg, and the maximum recommended dose is 20 mg once a day. In clinical studies, 20 mg gave the best balance of effect and side effects for most men. Brand-name tadalafil is not approved at 40 mg in the US, UK or EU. Some Indian brands, including Vidalista 40, make higher strengths, but they should only be used if a doctor has decided that is right for you.

Side effects to know about

The most common tadalafil side effects are headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing and a stuffy nose. They tend to be more likely and stronger at higher doses. Seek urgent medical help for:

  • An erection lasting more than 4 hours
  • Chest pain, fainting or severe dizziness
  • Sudden loss of vision or hearing

Never take tadalafil with nitrates (such as nitroglycerin), recreational “poppers” or riociguat, because the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

Which one should you choose?

For most men who need tadalafil as needed, the choice is between 10 mg and 20 mg, and your doctor will decide. If 20 mg does not work well, talk to your doctor before trying a higher strength. Timing, alcohol, other medicines and underlying conditions such as diabetes or heart disease can all affect results, and a higher dose is not always the answer.

If you take tadalafil often, ask your doctor about a low daily dose of 2.5 mg or 5 mg instead of a high as-needed dose.

Can I split a Vidalista 40 tablet?

Do not split tablets unless your doctor or pharmacist says it is suitable for that product. Ask for the strength you have been prescribed instead.

Do I need a prescription?

Yes. Tadalafil is a prescription medicine. ERXCart asks you to upload a valid prescription at checkout and checks it before dispatch.
